The Kaligandaki Corridor, a national pride project, has been successfully completed, linking the renowned Muktinath Temple in Mustang with Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha in Rupandehi. This new infrastructure not only connects two of Nepal’s most important religious and cultural landmarks but also serves as a vital route for trade and tourism.

Spanning 495 kilometers from Gaidakot to the Korala border with China, the corridor is expected to boost Nepal’s tourism sector, particularly attracting visitors from neighboring India and China. By providing a shorter and more efficient route between these countries, the Kaligandaki Corridor has the potential to become a significant hub for trilateral trade, fostering stronger economic ties between Nepal, India, and China.

Tourists, especially from India and China, are now expected to visit both Muktinath and Lumbini, further enhancing the region’s appeal as a destination for spiritual and cultural exploration. The corridor marks a milestone in improving connectivity and promoting regional cooperation.
