Santosh Narayan Shrestha Appointed as SEBON Chairperson
The government has appointed Santosh Narayan Shrestha as the new chairperson of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON). A Cabinet meeting on Monday evening made the decision, ending an 11-month delay. Shrestha was selected for the role over other contenders, including SEBON’s Executive Directors Mukti Nath Shrestha and Nabaraj Adhikari. A committee formed by Vice-chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Shiva Raj Adhikari, had shortlisted the three candidates for the position. Shrestha, a businessperson, holds a BBA and MBA from Kathmandu University. He has extensive experience in the financial sector, having served as a board member of the Nepal Electricity Authority and having led both a microfinance institution and a finance company.
