“Bulaki” Wins Best Film at National Film Awards 2080

At the National Film Awards ceremony held on Wednesday at Shital Niwas, Bulaki was declared the best national film, taking home the prestigious ‘Best Film’ trophy. The event, organized by the Film Development Board, saw President Ramchandra Paudel presenting awards in 10 categories to outstanding films from the 2080 (2023) public screenings.

Bulaki, a film that tells the touching story of a childless woman from Karnali, emerged as the top winner, securing awards in three categories. Dimaag Kharaab also received recognition, winning awards in two categories. All films that won National Film Awards were awarded a trophy, certificate, and a cash prize of 25,000 rupees each.

The jury for this year’s awards was chaired by Badri Adhikari, with members Ravi Chandra Adhikari, Sushil Pokharel, Som Prasad Khatwida, Gaurishankar Dhuzu, Sabnam Mukhiya, and Deepa Pandey Basnet.
