Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour Book” Becomes Top-Selling Title of 2024 with Exclusive Target Launch

CGC News Reporter December 5, 2024

Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour Book” has achieved remarkable success, selling 814,000 copies over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, making it the top-selling book of the week and the biggest publishing launch of 2024. The book, released exclusively through Target on Black Friday, has shattered records despite being unavailable on Amazon and other retailers.

While some fans have expressed disappointment over typos in the book, the sales numbers still place Swift in rare company, with only Barack Obama’s 2020 memoir “A Promised Land” having a larger nonfiction launch, selling 816,000 copies in its first week. Swift’s strategy of exclusive, non-traditional releases has proved successful before, such as with her record-breaking concert film, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” which grossed over $200 million in 2023.

In addition to the “Eras” book, Swift remains a publishing phenomenon, with numerous biographies and other themed books inspired by her career continuing to perform well in 2024.
