Supreme Court Aims to Eliminate 154 Eight-Year-Old Backlog Cases by End of Fiscal Year
The Supreme Court has set an ambitious goal to clear all backlog cases that have remained unresolved for over eight years by the end of the current fiscal year. Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut revealed that there are currently 154 such cases, and the court plans to bring them down to zero as part of a targeted effort for institutional improvement. The Supreme Court announced this plan during the court hearing process, which was managed through a lucky draw system on Friday. Chief Justice Raut emphasized that the court is dedicating “zero hours” to institutional enhancements to improve its operations and reduce the backlog. The court’s move is seen as a significant step towards improving efficiency and expediting justice delivery in Nepal.
