Lumbini Lions Secure First Win in Nepal Premier League, Defeat Chitwan Rhinos by 33 Runs

Lumbini Lions clinched their first victory in the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL) on Tuesday, defeating Chitwan Rhinos by 33 runs at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. Batting first, Lumbini posted a competitive total of 167/6 in their 20 overs, with Captain Rohit Paudel leading the charge, scoring 80 runs off 57 balls. Saad Bin Zafar also played a crucial knock, remaining unbeaten on 52 runs.

In response, Chitwan Rhinos could only manage 134/8, falling short of the 168-run target. Luc Benkenstein top-scored for the Rhinos with 31 runs, while Captain Kushal Malla contributed 20 runs and Nar Sarki remained not out at 22 runs. The loss marked Chitwan’s second defeat in the tournament as they suffered their fifth match of the season.
