At least five people have died and over 35 others have been injured after a truck carrying a chemical substance collided with multiple vehicles on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway in Rajasthan early on Friday. The accident, which occurred near the Bhankrota area, caused a massive fire that engulfed nearly 40 vehicles, including trucks and private cars. Firefighters struggled to control the blaze as it spread rapidly, with the fuel tanks of several vehicles adding to the intensity of the fire.

The injured, many of whom are in serious condition, were quickly rushed to the government hospital in Jaipur, where 24-25 people are being treated in the ICU. The death toll is feared to rise as several victims remain in critical condition.

Fortunately, the petrol pumps near the site of the mishap were unaffected by the fire. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma visited the hospital where the injured were being treated, assuring that all possible rescue and relief efforts were underway. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, and authorities are working to identify the victims and provide support to their families.

This devastating accident highlights the growing concerns over road safety in the region.
