Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Finalize Divorce after Eight-Year Legal Battle
Hollywood power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have officially finalized their divorce after an eight-year legal struggle. The long-awaited settlement was reached on December 30, with the couple signing divorce papers that outlined their terms. Jolie initially filed for divorce in 2016, and since then, she and their children had left all shared assets with Pitt. “Since then, she has focused on peace and healing for the family,” said Jolie’s lawyer, James Simon. “This is just a part of the process that started eight years ago. Honestly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved that this part is over.” The couple made headlines in 2016 following a physical altercation aboard a private plane, during which it was reported that Pitt struck one of their children. Additionally, legal documents revealed that Pitt had grabbed Jolie’s head and shoved her, which led to a lawsuit against him. The details of the case were publicly disclosed in 2022.
Jolie’s lawyer also stated that Pitt had been physically abusive since 2016 and further accused him of preventing her from selling her half of their winery. With this chapter finally closing, both parties can now focus on healing and moving forward.
