A rapidly spreading wildfire has engulfed the Los Angeles area, forcing the evacuation of 30,000 residents and threatening thousands of buildings. The fire, which initially flared up on a 20-acre patch of land, has expanded to a staggering 1,200 acres in just a few hours, with no signs of slowing down. . The fire, which ignited around 10:30 AM local time on Tuesday, is being fueled by fierce 50 mph winds and dry conditions, placing a large portion of California under a red flag warning.

Fire officials report that 13,000 buildings are currently at risk, with heavy smoke blanketing the region. Footage from the Pacific Palisades area shows homes engulfed in flames, and evacuees fleeing the area, abandoning their cars in the chaos. Fire Chief Kristin Crowley and Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone have warned that the Pacific Palisades area remains “not out of danger.”
