Snowfall Disrupts Normal Life in Upper Terrains of District, Cold Weather Affects Vulnerable Groups

Normal life has been severely impacted in the upper territories of the district following heavy snowfall, according to local sources. Angkanju Sherpa, a resident, reported that snowfall has been occurring since last night around Gufapokhari in Chainpur Municipality-1. He further stated that areas such as Cavepokhari, Mangalare, Kimathanka, and Makalu have also been affected by the ongoing snowfall and light rain.

The continuing cold weather has particularly impacted children, the elderly, and livestock, with temperatures dropping drastically in the affected regions. The local communities are facing difficulties in daily life, as the weather conditions persist and further exacerbate the challenges posed by the snowfall.
