19 Killed in Attack on Presidential Palace in Chad’s Capital, N’Djamena

At least 19 people, including 18 militants, were killed in a violent assault on the presidential palace in N’Djamena, Chad’s capital, the Chadian government reported. According to AFP, security forces quickly repelled the attack, which involved unidentified gunmen firing shots near the palace.

The Al Arabiya TV channel reported that the Boko Haram terrorist group was behind the assault. In response, Chadian armed forces mobilized tanks and police units to secure the palace. Residents of N’Djamena also gathered to show support for Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno.

The attack underscores ongoing security challenges in the region, as militant groups continue to pose threats to stability in Chad and neighboring countries.
