Nepal has witnessed a significant boost in foreign direct investment (FDI) commitments during the first half of the current fiscal year, with foreign investors pledging a total of Rs 25.77 billion. This marks an increase of Rs 3.46 billion, or 15.5%, compared to the same period last year, according to the Department of Industry (DoI). The FDI commitment in the review period from mid-July to mid-January represents a positive trend in attracting foreign capital, which saw a total of Rs 22.33 billion in pledges during the same period in FY 2022/23. The continued rise in FDI is seen as a promising indicator for Nepal’s economic growth and its potential to attract international investors.
