Despite the presence of well-equipped universities and educational institutions within Nepal, the trend of Nepali students opting to study abroad continues to rise. According to a recent report from Nepal Rastra Bank, Nepali students have spent a staggering 47.34 billion Nepali rupees on overseas education during the first five months of the current fiscal year. The increasing trend of foreign education expenditure raises concerns about the long-term effects on Nepal’s economy, as a large portion of the country’s financial resources is being spent abroad. However, it also presents opportunities for Nepal’s educational sector to innovate and enhance its offerings to retain students domestically.
