American Airlines Jet Collides with US Army Helicopter, Crashes into Potomac River

An American Airlines passenger jet, carrying 60 passengers and four crew members, crashed into the Potomac River near Ronald Reagan National Airport in Washington, DC, following a mid-air collision with a US Army helicopter.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported the incident occurred around 9 PM local time as the jet was approaching Runway 33. The military helicopter, which had three soldiers on board, was also involved in the crash. Emergency teams quickly responded, and rescue operations continued overnight to locate survivors and recover the wreckage.
