A deadly crash between an Army helicopter and an American Airlines regional jet killed all 67 people on board, officials said. The accident happened late Wednesday night near Washington, D.C., when the helicopter flew into the path of the jet while it was landing at Ronald Reagan National Airport.

The American Airlines plane had 60 passengers and four crew members, and the helicopter had three soldiers on board. The crash happened just over three miles from the White House.

Rescue teams recovered 28 bodies from the Potomac River, where the wreckage was found. The crash is being investigated, and officials are looking into the actions of the military pilot. President Donald Trump confirmed there were no survivors.

The accident took place in one of the busiest and most closely watched airspaces in the world, raising concerns about how the crash occurred despite high levels of air traffic control. The Federal Aviation Administration is also reviewing how air traffic duties were managed during the incident.
