At least 40 people were killed in a shelling attack on a market in Omdurman, near Sudan’s capital Khartoum, on Saturday, according to a medical source. The attack was carried out by the Sudanese paramilitary group, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The source, speaking anonymously for safety reasons, said that many others were wounded and continued to be brought to Al-Nao Hospital for treatment. Since April 2023, the RSF has been in conflict with Sudan’s regular army, a war that has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and displaced over 12 million people.
