In response to US President Donald Trump’s new tariffs, Canada, Mexico, and China have announced their own measures. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Canada would impose 25% tariffs on $155 billion worth of US imports. The first $30 billion in tariffs will take effect on Tuesday, with the rest following in 21 days.

Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum said she instructed her economy minister to implement “Plan B,” which includes tariffs and other measures to protect Mexico’s interests. She also rejected accusations from the US government that Mexico is allied with drug trafficking groups, calling the claims “slander” on social media.

China also promised to take “corresponding countermeasures” against the new US tariffs. These tit-for-tat actions are expected to impact global supply chains significantly.
