Monkey Causes Island-Wide Power Outage in Sri Lanka

A monkey caused a power blackout across Sri Lanka on Sunday after it made contact with an electrical grid transformer.

The outage, which started at 11:30 am, affected the entire island and took over three hours to fix. Energy Minister Kumara Jayakody explained that the monkey’s interaction with the transformer created an imbalance in the system, leading to the widespread power failure.
