Political leaders and tech representatives worldwide converged today in Paris, where a summit will be convened for two days on the future of artificial intelligence. The forum, cohosted by President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, leaders of France and India, is expected to unveil guidelines for management of the growing technology that makes businesses and society function differently these days. The summit at Paris’ Grand Palais attracted roughly 1,500 guests-attendees ranging from US VP JD Vance to Chinese VP Zhang Guoqing, along with tech giants including OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Google boss Sundar Pichai-as well as talks and panels debating the opportunities and risks of AI. Business suit-clad participants filled the grand hall, lined with stands showcasing AI projects from companies, universities, and non-profit organizations. The summit aspires to bring together experts and leaders to explore how AI can shape the world and how to handle its impact.
