KIIT University Tells Nepali Students to Leave Campus after Student Death
KIIT University in the Indian state of Odisha has instructed Nepali students to leave the campus following the death of a Nepali student, Prakriti Lamsal, on Sunday evening. Lamsal was a third-year B.Tech student. She was found dead in a hostel under mysterious conditions. Her death is yet to be determined. The university had issued a notice on February 17, asking all Nepali students to vacate the campus immediately. This comes after protests from students, accusing the University of Not moving quickly enough to deal with the problem. Lamsal had complained to the university about alleged harassment by a male classmate before she died. The police have taken Lamsal’s body for a post-mortem at the Capital Hospital as investigations go on.
