Hamas promises to Free All Hostages in a Batch in Gaza Truce

Taher al-Nunu, one of the senior officials in Hamas, told AFP on Wednesday that Hamas will release all the remaining hostages in a batch in the second phase of the Gaza truce. The hostages will be released in a single exchange, according to him, rather than phased like in the current first phase.

Since the ceasefire began on January 19, Hamas has released 19 Israeli hostages in exchange for more than 1,100 Palestinian prisoners. At the end of the first phase, 58 hostages will remain in Gaza, 34 of whom Israel assumes have already died.
