Influencer and ex-kickboxer Andrew Tate flew into the United States from Romania on Thursday, defying the serious allegations of rape and human trafficking over his head there. Romanian police claim Tate and his brother Tristan and two women constituted a criminal organization that sex trafficked at least several victims. The Tates, a British and American dual nationality, refute the allegations.

The Romanian police stated that the brothers can travel around, but they should come to the authorities at will. If they contravene these conditions, their freedom of movement could be limited further.

Tate, who moved to Romania in 2017, gained fame for his provocative views, often declaring misogyny, homophobia, and racism. He is suspended on platforms like Instagram and TikTok. Four British women, however, have sued Tate in the UK civilly, accusing him of rape and coercive control between 2013 and 2016.

Tate’s departure has raised concerns among the victims, with some fearing that pressure from the US government could ease travel restrictions on him. Nevertheless, Tate still has outstanding legal cases in Romania and the UK.
