Zelenskyy Ready to Work under Trump Strongest Leadership
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he is prepared to collaborate with President Donald Trump to attain permanent peace, after a heated meeting in the White House. Zelenskyy called the meeting “regrettable” after Trump alleged that he was not prepared to negotiate peace and the U.S. suspended military assistance to Ukraine. On Twitter, Zelenskyy spelled out stopping the war, from prisoner releases to a ban on missiles and drones to a sea ceasefire. He called upon the world to move quickly to keep and partner with the U.S. on a firm peace deal. The previous week’s session had been planned to finalize a mineral pact between the U.S. and Ukraine, but it ended in disagreement as Trump held Zelenskyy responsible for not appreciating the help from America. Despite the tensions, Zelenskyy thanked the U.S. for helping Ukraine achieve independence and sovereignty, mentioning the military aid during Trump’s initial term. Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of positive cooperation in the future and wished for better communication between Ukraine and the U.S. in the future.
