Boxing Great George Foreman Dies at 76

Former heavyweight champion boxer George Foreman passed away on Friday night at the age of 76. His death was confirmed on social media by his family, but they provided no details of where or how he died.

Foreman is best known for his illustrious career in the ring, including his two heavyweight titles and his infamous loss to Muhammad Ali in the 1974 “Rumble in the Jungle.” Foreman retired from the ring but returned in 1994 to become the oldest heavyweight champion at the age of 45.

Apart from boxing, Foreman also proved to be a successful businessman, best known as the face of the George Foreman Grill, which has sold over 100 million units. Foreman was also a committed preacher, family man, and philanthropist, who left an indelible mark in and out of the ring.

Foreman’s family described him as humble, purposeful, and a man of faith, and boxing leaders have paid tribute to the beloved figure. Foreman has 12 children, five of whom are sons named George Edward Foreman.
