Plane Crashes into Southern California Furniture Factory, Killing Two and Injuring 18
A small plane crashed into the roof of a large furniture manufacturing facility in Fullerton, Southern California, on Thursday, killing two people and injuring 18 others. The plane, which had taken off less than two minutes earlier from Fullerton Municipal Airport, struck the building while at least 200 people were working inside. Authorities have yet to confirm the identities of the two deceased victims or whether they were on the plane or on the ground, said Fullerton police spokesperson Kristy Wells. Flight-tracking websites revealed the aircraft was just six miles from Disneyland when the crash occurred. Security camera footage from a nearby wheel manufacturer, Rucci Forged, showed the plane tilting on its side before crashing into the building, causing a fiery explosion and a massive plume of black smoke. Firefighters and police arrived quickly, battling the blaze and evacuating surrounding businesses. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
