Country music star Carrie Underwood and the 1970s disco group Village People are among the performers scheduled for events surrounding President Donald Trump’s 2025 inauguration next week. Underwood will perform “America the Beautiful” shortly before Trump takes the oath of office on January 20 at the U.S. Capitol.

“I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,” Underwood said in a statement. She expressed her hopes that the performance would bring the country together in a spirit of unity.

The Village People, famous for their dance-pop hits including the iconic “Y.M.C.A.,” will perform at two inaugural events, including one of Trump’s inaugural balls and a rally in Washington, D.C. The group, known for their energetic performances and colorful stage personas, has long been associated with the song “Y.M.C.A.,” which became a popular anthem at Trump’s rallies during his campaign.

The inaugural festivities, which kick off this weekend, will include several events, such as a reception at Trump’s golf club in Sterling, Virginia, a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, and a “MAGA Victory” rally featuring the Village People. On Inauguration Day, Trump’s official schedule includes a tea at the White House, the swearing-in ceremony at the Capitol, and a series of inaugural balls, with performances from country singer Lee Greenwood and opera singer Christopher Macchio.

In contrast to previous inaugurations, the 2025 event is expected to reflect Trump’s return to the White House following a decisive electoral victory. Trump’s second inauguration promises a mix of patriotic traditions and celebratory events, including a national prayer service and performances from other musical favorites.
