Winter Session of Nepal’s Federal Parliament Begins Today

The winter session of Nepal’s Federal Parliament is set to begin today at 1:00 PM, also known as the legislative session. The first day’s agenda includes addresses from Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and top leaders of various political parties.

During the session, Prime Minister Oli will present the ‘Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to Good Governance Promotion and Public Service Delivery, 2081 BS.’ Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel will present three ordinances, including amendments to the Financial Procedures and Fiscal Responsibility Ordinance, the Privatization Ordinance, and the Economic and Business Environment Reform and Investment Promotion Ordinance.

Additionally, Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation Balram Adhikari will introduce ordinances related to cooperatives and land reforms. Speaker Devraj Ghimire will nominate members to preside over the sessions as per parliamentary rules.
