During their visit, they met with President Ramchandra Paudel to discuss the long-standing relationship between Nepal and the UK. The talks focused on mutual interests, including the impact of climate change and ways to strengthen ties in youth and women’s empowerment.

President Paudel highlighted the importance of addressing climate change, especially in the Himalayas, and shared Nepal’s plans to launch the Sagarmatha Dialogue on climate change in May. The Duke expressed interest in learning about the effects of climate change on Nepal and the Himalayas, and he thanked Nepal for its support in British Army recruitment, especially through the Gurkha community.
