US President Donald Trump has stated that he believes his ally, Elon Musk, will find billions of dollars in fraud and misuse of funds at the Pentagon.

In an interview with Fox News, Trump said Musk’s audit of the Pentagon, aimed at reducing the size of the federal workforce, will reveal “billions” of waste. The Pentagon’s budget is nearly $1 trillion, with recent defense spending authorized at $895 billion for the fiscal year ending in September. Trump emphasized that uncovering this fraud was one of the reasons he was elected.
