Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen) appealed to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to give the Nepalis a ground of dignity as much as they could lead their life as Nepali citizens. In a tweet on Friday, Mayor Shah underscored the increasing international criticism Nepal has been facing. He cited “Dear Prime Minister, America has called us corrupted, India has called us beggars, China does not respect us, forget that I am a mayor, Will you just give us a basis to live as a Nepali?”. US President Trump has cut theaid provided to Nepal calling it “Fraud”. At a press conference held at Mar-a-Lago, Florida, last Tuesday, announced to cancel $39 million in aid for Nepal. The amount cancelled is comprised of $20 million for fiscal federalism and $19 million for conserving biodiversity. US President Donald Trump’s move has further fueled controversies in Nepal.
