Former President Donald Trump attacked the Associated Press (AP) on Thursday, labeling it a “radical left organization” while speaking at the Republican Governor’s Association. Trump has clashed with the news wire on its failure to recognize his renaming of the “Gulf of Mexico” to the “Gulf of America.” He claimed the AP’s refusal to cover this action led the White House to bar AP reporters from covering events like Air Force One and the Oval Office. Trump maintained that the White House is excluding the AP from press briefings until the agency follows his order.

Although he indicated that legal action could be pursued against the AP, he provided no details. The AP, a long-established news agency, noted that “Gulf of Mexico” has been employed as the name for over 400 years and that Trump’s order only has authority within the U.S. Meanwhile, tech billionaire Elon Musk also jumped into the mix, criticizing AP by tweeting that it is “Associated Propaganda”.
