Nepal’s foreign trade has shown a notable improvement in the fourth month of the current fiscal year, according to the latest data from the Department of Customs (DoC). Exports increased by 4.16 percent, reaching Rs 52.67 billion, while imports grew by a modest 0.17 percent to Rs 513.38 billion, compared to Rs 512.50 billion during the same period last year.
This marks a positive turnaround for Nepal’s cross-border trade, which had experienced negative growth in the first three months of the fiscal year, ending in mid-October. However, the recovery seen between mid-October and mid-November signals a hopeful shift in the country’s trade outlook.
