Former Deputy PM Rabi Lamichhane Interrogated in Kathmandu and Sent Back to Pokhara amid Embezzlement Probe
Former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Rabi Lamichhane, who is also the chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has been sent back to Pokhara after undergoing a three-day interrogation in Kathmandu. Lamichhane was brought to the capital on Thursday for questioning regarding his alleged involvement in the embezzlement of funds from the Swarnalaxmi cooperative. The District Government Attorney’s Office (DGAO) in Kathmandu took three days to record his statement, which was completed on Monday. During the interrogation, Lamichhane denied any involvement in the alleged fraud, asserting that although he was the managing director of Gorkha Media, he had no knowledge of where the funds had come from. Following the statement-taking process, he was sent back to Pokhara this morning on a Buddha Air flight.
